“Hamburg from above – a work of art.”
Hamburger Morgenpost

The north of Germany from above – photographer Bernd Uhde regularly takes off: he hovers over northern German landscapes and cities in a helicopter or a hot air balloon and takes pictures that are based on an entirely new kind of visual imagery. His work does not focus on the documentary, but on abstraction and a reduction down to minimal imagery elements. Uhde’s book, WHITE Album (2014, published by Verlag seltmann+söhne), features nothing but snow-covered urban and agricultural landscapes. The book is his fourth photo book of bird’s-eye view pictures. His large-scale works were displayed in a major solo exhibition at the HOLTHOFF-MOKROSS-Galerie in Hamburg-Ottensen, timed to coincide with the launch of his book.

hesse und hallermann initiated reviews of the WHITE Album photo book and publicised the exhibition – both in high-coverage consumer media and on television and also in the relevant specialist publications.
